DCF is partnering with the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority (EDDDA) to raise funds and work with the national non-profit organization Artspace to purchase and rehabilitate the historic Dearborn City Hall to become live/work/display space for artists.

Dearborn City Hall
Looking to use the power of the arts to improve East Dearborn’s economic base, the EDDDA invited Artspace into the community. Of the 20 potential sites Artspace considered, the most promising proved to be Dearborn City Hall, a two-building campus that occupies an entire block and is available because the City is moving its government offices to a more central location.
In partnership with EDDDA and the City of Dearborn, Artspace is now in the planning stages of a mixed-use arts campus that will build upon Dearborn’s heritage as a world center of innovation by creating a new anchor institution for the region’s creative economy. City Hall Artspace Lofts will combine 46 units of affordable live/work space for artist families with a cutting edge creative incubator blending studios, shared working space and galleries.
